The President of the Senate, distinguished Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, GCON has renovated a solar-powered borehole at Gashua Custodial Centre in Yobe State Command to address water scarcity in the center.
The project, which is in line with the Senate President's effort at bringing succor to his senatorial district, is expected to provide the staff and inmates of Gashua Custodial Center with steady access to potable drinking water.
Earlier speaking, the officer-in-charge of the center, CSC Isma'ila Haruna, extolled the Senate President for his continued kind gesture and pledged to make judicious use of the project.
The Controller of Corrections, Yobe State Command, CCS Yusufu Sambo, while commending the Senate President for making life better for inmates, called on government at all levels, philanthropists, and other individuals to emulate him for a sustainable quality of life for inmates.
