Nigerian Correctional Service
The Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, mni received in audience the Executive Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), Mr Victor Muruako Esq, who paid a courtesy visit to the National Headquarters of the Service in Abuja.
The visit was aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration between the two agencies in promoting fiscal discipline, transparency, and accountability in public sector management.
In his remarks, the FRC Chairman commended the leadership of the Nigerian Correctional Service for its unwavering commitment to prudent financial management and adherence to established fiscal standards. He noted that such commitment is critical to the realization of the Federal Government’s broader objectives on public financial reforms and efficient resource utilization.
Responding, the Controller General appreciated the visit and expressed the Service’s readiness to partner with the Fiscal Responsibility Commission in enhancing compliance with fiscal regulations, strengthening internal control mechanisms, and ensuring transparency in financial operations. He emphasized that the NCoS remains committed to aligning its financial practices with national and international best standards in public accountability.
Both leaders agreed to explore areas of mutual interest, including data sharing, and institutional cooperation toward achieving improved governance outcomes across the correctional sector.
