The Controller of Corrections Nigeria Correctional Service Zamfara State Command, CC Ibrahim Shehu, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau Brigadier General TM OPURUM, on Tuesday 29/10/24, at his office in Gusau.

Speaking during the visit, the Controller of Corrections Ibrahim Shehu, Says the visit was to Strengthen the working relationship between the two Organizations and to explore opportunities for Collaboration and Synergy to boost Security.

The two Agencies discussed ways to improve Security in the State and shared information on current threats and challenges.

While emphasizing the importance of synergy between the two agencies Brigadier General OPURUM offered to assist with training of inmates in skill acquisition.

He also pledged to provide man power support to NCoS to enhance the security of custodial centers across the state when the need arises, stressing that the work of security is a collective responsibility, hence the need for support of one another.

In a response ,CC Shehu underscored the importance of collaboration between the two agencies, he Stressed that the Nigerian Correctional Service is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the custodial centers, and valued the support of our partners in the Nigerian Army, saying the commitment of Nigerian Army to assisting with skill acquisition training for inmates and security support for our facilities will go a long way in improving the wellbeing of the inmates and the security of the facilities which will further enhance reformation, rehabilitation and Reintegration efforts.

The two Bosses, expressed their commitment to continue working together in the pursuit of a safer and more secure Zamfara State.
